Urgent help

If you're in crisis and need support, it's important to get help. If you’ve seriously injured yourself or taken an overdose call 999 or get immediate medical advice from NHS 111. If you are in a mental health crisis and need support then you can contact the single point of access number below. You can also text the SHOUT National Crisis line on 85258.


Single Point of Access for Mental Health Crisis Services

If you’re in a mental health emergency, call the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust single point of access crisis freephone number: 0800 0516171

This is an all age, single point of access telephone number available 24/7 for those living in County Durham and Darlington, Teesside and most of North Yorkshire.

Get more help

If you’ve been having suicidal feelings or have been in crisis you can also speak to your GP. They can talk about the thoughts you’re having and make sure you get the help and support you need. You can text the North Yorkshire texting service BUZZ US to discuss your concerns on 07520 631168. You will receive confidential advice, support and signposting from a wellbeing worker within one working day via text. BUZZ US is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, you should call one of the CAMHS Crisis Service numbers above.

You may feel totally alone and like there’s no hope. No matter how bad things get and how strong those feelings might be, with the right support you’ll be able to overcome these overwhelming feelings.
